VISA REGIME.
There are two ways of issuing entrance visas for the USA citizens.
The USA citizens can obtain a tourist visa at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to Washington:

The USA citizens can obtain visa at the counselor department of the Chishinau airport. It is necessary to submit national passport and customs declaration at the boarder, which confirms the financial provision for that period of time. The minimal amount which foreign citizen should have at his/her disposal on entering Moldova is 390 Lei per day (about 30 USD).

The regular flights between America and Moldova are made via Frankfurt, Budapest and Paris.

Leu (Lei - plural) is the national currency of Moldova. One leu is 100 bani. Leu exchange rate to US dollar: 1 USD is 12 lei 80 bani.

Local and leading foreign banks offer the full range of commercial bank services.
Working hours of banks are 9:00 - 17.30
Exchange offices are open from 9:00 till 18:00. Some of them function non-stop.

The official language is Moldavian. Russian along with Moldavian is used as a communication language among different nations.
